our wedding film
june 18, 2023

this is our story.

We were so blessed by our friends Ben & Syd who filmed this whole day for us so that we could edit our own wedding film. Long before I even met Peyton, I had dreams for this film. My dad, being a documentarian himself, had galleries & galleries of home videos from growing up. I love the depth that old videos bring to a story, and I was so excited to stitch them into our own wedding film. There was so much to this day that I wanted to tell, lots of simply just what led up to it. Being our wedding, a lot of people asked if we would edit our own film & how that felt in comparison to doing someone else’s. The answer has always been yes, I was so excited to edit ours, but the film didn’t really feel like mine. Ultimately, this film is the Lord’s. Every edit I made, I wanted to do Him justice. To demonstrate as best as I could the absolute love and mercy that He has lavished on us, has lavished on us all, and to represent it in a movie. That people watching might not see us, but Him. That was my prayer. And as prestigious of a client that the King of Kings is, I found myself the most creative and at peace that I’ve felt as I found music, sorted through old videos, listened through audio and bookmarked clips from our day to tell this story. God is so, so good and we are so incredibly blessed by the story He’s given us, the love we get to share, and the gift it is to tell of it.

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Ephesians 3:20-21
